At the 2025 National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Convention in Dallas, Texas, two powerful women of faith, Isik Abla and Anne Beiler, introduced their brand-new podcast, Broken Silence. Hosted by Eden Horton Hill, this conversation shed light on the purpose behind their collaboration, the heart of their message, and their vision for empowering women through honest, unfiltered discussions.
A Match Made in Heaven: How Isik and Anne Met
Isik Abla, originally from Turkey, and Anne Beiler, from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, may have come from vastly different backgrounds, but their connection was instant. Introduced through a mutual friend, they quickly realized they shared a deep, kindred spirit. As Anne put it, “Ex-Muslim, ex-Amish—we’re a match made in heaven.” Their shared passion for truth, authenticity, and breaking down barriers has fueled their mission to encourage women to embrace their stories and step into freedom.
What Is Broken Silence All About?
So what exactly is Broken Silence? According to Anne, it’s about confronting the brokenness we all experience in life. “Many of us try to hide our brokenness. We pretend to be okay, but inside, we’re dying. In my own journey, secrets and lies almost destroyed me. But I discovered a better way—by telling my story and bringing everything into the light.”
For Isik, Broken Silence means exactly that—breaking free from the things that keep us bound. “We all carry things inside for too long. This podcast is about speaking up on the hard, taboo subjects without sugarcoating anything. It’s about being raw and real.”
Together, they are determined to create a space where women can connect without pretense, where vulnerability is encouraged, and where true healing can begin.
From Competition to Completion: A New Vision for Women
One of the most striking messages Isik and Anne shared was their desire to see women complete each other rather than compete with each other. Isik highlighted this shift in mindset, saying, “For too long, we’ve seen women competing instead of uplifting one another. What I love about Anne is that she truly listens and empowers people. That’s what we want to do—we want to listen, empower, and remove competition to build each other up.”
Anne echoed this sentiment, adding that “the fruit of suffering is great compassion. We don’t come with judgment or guilt—we come with love. We want to hear people’s pain, so we can speak life and love into their brokenness.”
Addressing Mental Health and Isolation
With mental health challenges on the rise, Broken Silence is more relevant than ever. “So many people today are isolated and struggling in silence. We want to provide a space where people can talk about these struggles without fear or shame,” Anne shared.
Eden Horton Hill emphasized the podcast’s potential impact, especially in communities facing unique challenges. “As a veteran spouse, I know how much military families, especially military spouses, need encouragement. Your voices can reach people who may not be tuning into traditional faith-based content but will find hope through your podcast.”
A Podcast for Every Woman
The heart of Broken Silence is to reach women in every season of life—those in the middle of a crisis, those feeling lost, and those simply seeking a deeper connection with others. By sharing their own raw, real stories, Isik and Anne hope to encourage others to step into the light, embrace healing, and discover the power of speaking their truth.
